Shaler North Hills Library to offer 6-week study, What’s Next: Spirituality for the Second Half of Life
Friday, January 17, 2020 | 4:38 PM
Join the Reverend Ingrid Kalchthaler (Miss Ing) in this six-week study as we contemplate the second half of our lives from a spiritual perspective. The sessions will run from February 6 through March 12 (Thursdays) from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Shaler North Hills Library.
When we hear the term “the second half of life,” thoughts of getting old and dealing with health concerns come to mind to the exclusion of others. Not true! There is so much more to be gained as we begin the process of letting go. We can let go of black-and-white thinking, of regrets and resentments and misconceptions. We can embrace forgiveness, compassion and the truth that we are much more than what we have accumulated and what we have accomplished.
No matter what half of life in which you find yourself, we will come together to explore this broad, encompassing path of spirituality. Using Richard Rohr’s work Falling Upward and Joan Chittister’s The Gift of Years, we will explore this journey together.
Miss Ing is an ordained American Baptist pastor and her path is Christianity, but this class welcomes people from all faith perspectives.
To register for this class, please call 412-486-0211 or visit the Library’s website at www.shalerlibrary.org.
Daytime sessions of this class will be held at the North Hills Community Baptist Church, 7801 Thompson Run Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 in the Café from 12:15 – 1:15 p.m.
