The Shaler commissioners appointed Lt. Sean Frank to serve as first deputy police chief, effective immediately, during their Oct. 8 meeting. Chief Bryan Kelly plans on retiring in February with more than 34 years of Shaler Township Police Department service.
Frank was promoted from sergeant to lieutenant in 2014. A certified paramedic with more than 27 years’ experience with the department, he became the township’s deputy emergency-management coordinator in 1994 and has served as coordinator since 2012.
Prior to joining the Shaler Township Police Department, Frank worked for the Allegheny General Hospital and St. Margaret Hospital paramedic response units.
