A Shaler man was sentenced to more than five years in a federal penitentiary in connection with child pornography images and videos found on three of his devices.

Brian R. Reddinger, 37, was ordered Tuesday to spend five years on supervised release after the 63-month prison term, according to federal prosecutors.

Agents from Homeland Security Investigations, the investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security, were looking into child pornography sharing via the internet and were led to Reddinger, according to prosecutors. During a November 2016 search warrant at his home, investigators said they found 2,932 images and 60 videos of child pornography on a cellphone, computer and tablet.

He admitted to authorities that he searched for and downloaded images and videos of child pornography — including children as young as 5 — on a weekly basis, according to court documents.

Reddinger pleaded guilty in August to one count of sharing child pornography on the internet.
