Letter to Editor: Port Authority continues to ignore northern communities

To the editor:
I read with interest about the town hall meeting regarding the service, or rather, lack of service to the communities in the Route 8 /Route 28 corridor. The indifference of the Port Authority to provide transit to the communities of Etna, Millvale and Shaler is stunning.
I live on the Middle Road, where in times past we enjoyed dependable bus service to Pittsburgh, as well as accommodations at a Park & Ride area. Incredibly, there has been no such service here for a long time, which is a very real hardship for the residents who live along this major artery to Route 8.
The ballyhoo over the $250 million BRT slated to improve service from Oakland to Pittsburgh only rubs salt in the wound of neglect we at the North end of the map have to endure.
Oh for competition!
