Shaler High Class of 1969 preparing 50th reunion

The Shaler High School Class of 1969 is looking for class members for a 50-year reunion planned for Sept. 21 at the Comfort Inn RIDC Harmarville.

Educational immigration event
Confused by the refugee and immigration situation? Seeking understanding and information from a perspective of faith?
On Sept. 22, beginning at 1 p.m., Emmanuel Lutheran Church will be hosting an educational event on immigration, past/present/future in partnership with LIRS (Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services).
The church is located at 66 Grant Ave., Etna.
There will be food vendors and a bake sale from 1 to 2:30 p.m. that will include: La Palapa, Porky’s Bar and Grill, and The Shiny Bean Coffee & Tea, along with live music from The Mondaze.
A short prayer service will be held from 2:30 to 3 p.m.
The presentation will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
A children’s activities area will be available during the presentation.
Glenshaw Century Club kickoff dinner
The Glenshaw Century Club, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 non profit woman’s organization that raises money for scholarships to Shaler Area High School seniors and donates to local philanthropic charities and organizations. The Glenshaw Century Club, Inc.’s annual kickoff dinner is being held Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Glenshaw Presbyterian Church. The evening will include a Chili cook-off and entertainment provided by the Pittsburgh Banjo Club. The evening will also include a business meeting.
